NCJWA Gold Coast together with Ruth and Lionel Cohen hosted a luncheon on Sunday 15th April with over 60 people in attendance with special guest speaker, Steven Ciobo MP - Federal Member for Moncrieff. Mr Ciobo spoke on a number of issues including Middle East, Iran and Australia's relationship with Israel to name a few.

President Barbara Stewart-Kann OAM presented Mr Ciobo with a Tree Certificate in appreciation.

Our second guest speaker was Mrs Dina Sharir who is visiting from Israel.  Dina lives in a village in Israel - Even Yehuda.  This village hosted over 1,600 displaced persons from Northern Israel during the war in 2006.

Dina spoke on the difficulties in housing and catering during that time and also thanked NCJWA - Gold Coast for their financial support in the purchasing of much needed air coolers for the dormitories in a nearby school which housed the families from Northern Israel.
